Philanthropy
We believe that life isn't about just taking what you need. We believe that giving back, part of your self or financially, is incredibly important. For 2025 we have started a new initative at LHD - for each project we accept, we will make a financial contribution to cause we are passionate about. Aside from volunteer work, non-profits need funds to continue doing their great tasks.

Giving back to our communities, animals and others is a cornerstone of my beliefs and my whole team. I believe that its imperative that we help those in need - be it furry or feathered or walking on 2 legs. So, we do things throughout the year to follow through on those beliefs. We are happy to support some amazing organizations across the world with our giving - both personally and professionally.
As we work to create light for others, we naturally light our own way."

Bridging - This 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization primarily serves the Twin Cities, providing donated furniture and household goods to families and individuals transitioning to housing stability. Bridging gives hope and a leap towards housing stability. With 3 locations in the Twin Cities, Bridging is driven by volunteers and donations of basic home essential items from the community. Since 1987, Bridging has served nearly 115,000 households (more than 345,000 individuals), and reduces landfill space by 14 million pounds each year. Teresa volunteers here weekly.

Stand in Pride - This new organization has a great mission! It's a 501(c)3 nonprofit founded by Daniel Blevins and established in 2024, dedicated to connecting members of the LGBTQ+ community with a chosen family, friends, and support. They help connect members of the LGBTQ+ community with other members and allies for emotional support whether virtually, in person, or by standing in at important life events. They believe in the power of acceptance and the profound impact of having a supportive family—especially for those in the LGBTQ+ community who have taken the brave step to come out. Unfortunately, not everyone receives the support they deserve. They match LGBTQ+ individuals without family support with allies that will stand in for them - to find a chosen family. Stand in Pride has thousands of members worldwide ready and willing to shower those in need with support and love. These volunteers are willing to physically show up for any special occasion to offer unconditional support and love to those who need it most. Their diverse community of problem-solvers are ready to physically stand by your side for any special occasion, embracing different perspectives and take bold steps to face today’s challenges together. Jennifer and Sereena can't wait to be part of this movement!

Sheldrick Wildlife Trust - The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (SWT) is a global leader in elephant conservation and one of Africa’s most respected wildlife charities. SWT embraces all measures that complement the conservation, preservation and protection of wildlife and habitats. Working across Kenya, their projects include anti-poaching, safe guarding the natural environment, enhancing community awareness, addressing animal welfare issues, providing veterinary assistance to animals in need, rescuing and hand rearing elephant and rhino orphans, along with other species that can ultimately enjoy a quality of life in wild terms when grown. They pioneered the Orphans’ Project, a first-of-its-kind program to rescue, raise, and rewild orphaned elephants and rhinos. Underpinning this mission, their extensive field projects, which protect wildlife and preserve critical habitats across the Kenya. Backed by decades of field experience, they are a multi-dimensional conservation organization dedicated to tackling the greatest threats facing Kenya’s natural world, while engaging local communities and mobilising a global supporter base in the process. As the human population expands, pushing wildlife to the very brink of extinction and wild habitats to the edge of destruction, the Sheldrick Trust is determined to reverse the effects of the past and prevent the effects of the present, in the hope for a better future for both wildlife and mankind.
We sponsor annually the rehabilitation of 7 year old male Mukkoka, a 3 year old female Giraffe named Twiggy, a 22 mo old male Rhino named Chamboi and a 22 mo old female elephant named Korbessa.
